The Verdict: Shawill BB cream and Concealer

Hey there GIRLIES! Here is my blog post about the products that I road tested for weeks. I bought these two products from SHAWILL (a make up brand here in the Philippines) and I have been trying these for quite sometime. I guess I was somewhat hesitant to post this since it was only about three weeks since I started using these but still here is my verdict.

Let us start with the BB CREAM. Last time I posted all of the promises that were listed on the packaging and I guess some of them were ahuh true and others na ah!

Shawill Natural Looking Blemish Balm
1. Anti wrinkle nourishing- I don't get this part of anti wrinkle since I really don't have one but I can say that this is quite nourishing with the dewy finish that it could give but it could be a little bit overwhelming if you have an oily type of skin like mine. I tried using this alone without setting powder and I looked like a "lechon" after a few a hours. For those people with dry skin, This would be a good product for you.
2. Transparent texture- Yeah, I find the texture of this one quite sheer. Actually if you want to have a full coverage type of make up this might be used with 3 coats of application plus with a powder foundation of choice. In my case since I just want to even out my skin then I only apply one to two coats and a setting powder.
3. Face will become smooth and naturally bright- I agree with this one since a lot of people have been telling me that I looked radiant while using this one. This promise is a thumbs up for me.
4. makes your skin look radiant and healthy- uhhmm.. as for this one....it is true if I have the product on my face but after I would wash it off I cannot see any difference compared to my skin prior to the usage of this product.
4. Protect your skin from sun rays 30 times longer than normal- uhhmmm..(insert cricket sound) I don't know how I could test this one since I do not know how to measure the protection given by the product to the skin against sun damage. But..I'll give this a benefit of the doubt since it has an SPF of 25.

My final verdict: 7 out 10-- This product is good but not that amazeballs. If you have an oily skin type this would give you a very dewy finish and you would tend to look like a grease ball after a while. It would be recommended that you must use a setting powder with this to neutralize the oil and dewiness at the same time. As for those who have a dry skin type this would be a hooray for you. The promises were soso in reality and if you would linked into the price of this, it is somewhat great at Php 168. This can be used by those Filipinas who are on the budget especially students.

Next product is their Concealer. My first comment for this product is that their lightest shade color is a bit darker than my skin. If I would use it to hide my pimples it is quite obvious unlike using other brands of concealer like Careline Pimple concealer.

Shawill Hide the Blemish You're Bluffing Concealer
1.Anti cernes and 3d traceless defects- Actually I don't get this one at first. I don't even understand the part of anti cernes means but I tried researching this and I found out that ----It's the french word for (undereye dark circles) concealer. The term has its roots in art where it represents a white line placed between two areas of color; much used by fauve artists. (from wiki answers). Honestly I don't have that noticeable dark under eys circles since my undereye will look puffy if I am tired. But still I noticed that it somehow brightens up the under eye area and this would be the best use of this concealer.
2. Diminishes the appearance of fine lines- well, I don't have fine lines as of the moment so i cannot really say that it could diminish the appearance of any fine lines. I tried it though to my mom and the result was a fail. It settled on to her lines under her yes and it caked upon applying powder foundation to set it.
3. Soothes the undereye area while conditioning and moisturizing the skin- This is a fail actually since I think it was not able to moisturize the area where i put it in (like my pimples which tends to flake up as it dries) and I was not able to see any soothing effects of this product on my undereye area.

My final verdict: 6 out of 10- This is just good for those who are having problems with their undereye area specifically those with dark undereye areas. As for those who are planning this to double up as a foundation stick and concealer in one, I think it might be of a good choice if you are just about to cover out minimal dark spots but not those reddened pimples since it can't cover it that much. This is good for those people with a darker skin tone since the shades are off to the darker side.

I hope this post would be of great help to you who are planning to buy these products.

make up and hair of the day (youtube inspired)

Lately I was just spending my time on youtube watching beauty related videos. I can consider that as my "hobby" as I may say. And as i continuously watch various VIDEOS both from local beauty gurus and international, I came to this certain pop in my head that I immediately grabbed my make up stuff and started doing some things in my mind. Just in time that I got some make up stuffs from my aunt's package, I used some of them. After i was done with my make up, I realized that i need false eyelashes (just to make the things funnier). And voila! I was finished with my look (evil laugh!) no...i was not yet finished..i need to style my lifeless hair..lol.. I decided then to curl my hair based on what i have seen on beauty gurus in youtube. At first, i really suck at doing my curls. I wondered why the girls on youtube made it so easy as if curling their hair was just easy as pie. My gosh, I really struggled to finish my hair. Good thing it went out quite well. And presenting to you this puppy pout look (youtube inspired).

Products i used:
Sansan matte foundation (no 2)
Maybelline clear smooth face powder (natural)
Covergirl eyebrow pencil
Estee Lauder matte eyeshadow (nude)
Miss Beauty eyeliner
Fanny Serrano eyleash curler
Miss Beauty false eyelashes
Aido putti eyelash glue
Maybelline one by one volume express mascara
Maybelline baby lips pink
Golden Beauty long lasting lip cream (purple)

ill end my blog post with this smile :)

Beauty Pick: Shawill BB Cream and Concealer

Shawill is not a new brand of cosmetics here in the Philippines. You can easily spot their counter at  malls and at Watson's. In fact, I've seen local bloggers and youtube gurus raved about this brand. I gave it a try since their products are so affordable and the major reason is that Shawill is a local brand. I am the person who likes using local products especially when it comes to cosmetics because of the reason that I think local products are just suited for our skin and weather.

The first product that I bought was this SHAWILL BLEMISH BALM (Natural Looking Skin Whitening Beauty) with SPF 25. I am in the shade of no. 2 (They have 4 shades to choose from: 1 as the lightest one and 4 as the darkest one) The price of this BB Cream is Php 168.00 (45 ml)

Quick note: BB cream stands for blemish balmblemish basebeauty balm or beblesh balm . BB cream is promoted as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage. (source: wikipedia.com)

The packaging include these information about the product:
This product claims to give an anti wrinkle nourishing. It also regenerates skin, conceal blemish and whitens. The transparent texture cream is suitable for all skin type. your face will become smooth and naturally bright. Nourishes the skin while applying and makes the skin look radiant and healthy.

This product has indeed a lot of promises. I have been using this one for only 5 times only so I think I could not really tell if these promises are true. However, my first impression on this one is quite good. Though I need to really test this product and post a review about this (perhaps after trying the product for about a month).

The second product that I got is this SHAWILL HIDE THE BLEMISH YOU'RE BLUFFING CONCEALER. I am in the shade of no. 1. They also have 4 shades for this concealer but unlike the bb cream's shade, the concealer is darker if you would compare. The price of this concealer is Php 125.00 (9.2 g)

Quick note: concealer or colour corrector is a type of makeup used to mask dark circles, age spots, large pores, and other small blemishes visible on the skin. It is like foundation, but thicker and used to hide different pigmentation by blending the imperfection into the surrounding skin tone. It is normally applied after primer, but before foundation and used on the face. (source: wikipedia.com)

The packaging include these information about the product:
Perfection and Natural concealer' Anti cernes (I don't even know this one) and 3D Traceless Defects
Concealer diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Its light diffusing pigment soften the appearance of undereye circles and wrinkles. The hydrating complex, containing Vitamins A, C, E and Beta Carotene, soothes the undereye area while conditioning and moisturizing the skin. The smooth and blendable formula is long lasting.

I just bought this one out of curiousity actually because I saw a video of Miss Say Tioco on youtube and she featured this concealer. I was not able to try this one since I do not really use concealer everyday for my face. I will just post a review together with the bb cream as soon as I try this one.

MUSTACHE baby!: My Facial hair removal story :)

 Mustache Alert!

MUSTACHE....I notice that it is somewhat in a trend right now but not for meI am always bothered by my "lady stache" ever since puberty. It was not that thick like those you can see on men but it is quite bothering since it would really show up on my face because I have light skin tone. I could not blame somebody for this outcome on my upper lip nor get pissed off because my genes made me have this. It is just nobody's fault. I thought that there must be some ways of getting this hair off my face.

SHAVE iT!

I thought of shaving but i got scared of trying thinking that it would result into a disaster (I am imagining that my facial hair will pop out as thick as my grown out leg hair)--> this is disaster right??? Another reason that i did not pursue shaving my facial hair is that my mother would not let me ( I don't know with my mom but she always angry about any hair removal process even tweezing my eyebrows and shaving my legs) So SHAVING is out of my list.

WAX out

I tried searching over the net and found out that waxing is a great way to deal with it. What I did was I went to a facial center that offers waxing and tried it. It was painful like hell! I swear i had this silent cry moment that is worse than the moment that I had when I had my eyebrows threaded. The outcome was good and for the price of Php 200, I think it was a bit expensive since you must continue doing this process twice a month or so. I tried questing for those do it yourself wax kits. I tried diy waxing but the turnout was not that great compared to the result of my salon waxing seesions. I thought (AW! fail as in epic fail).

Bleach it Blonde

Then when I was in Watson's (my favorite place in earth) I saw the Sally Hansen section and the lady intoduced to me the Facial bleaching cream. The price is Php 320 so I thought whoah this shoul be good or else...lol...I decided to try it and indeed it really worked. It lightened my facial hair to the point that it is barely noticeable. That was great however I felt some stings on my face during the application. I just ignored it anyway since beauty is sacrifice and that sting is way better than the pain I experinced from waxing. I said "cool! This would be awesome!". Yes, I liked the product effect but I got some breakouts after every bleaching sessions (yup! every after sessions) This made me think for a while and decided to look for an alternative after finishing up that bleach.

HAir it out

I went back to Watson's looking for another brand of facial hair bleach but sad to say that I was not able to find one :( Then the sale lady told me to try this Watson's Facial hair remover (similar to epicare). It looks like a spiral tool that grabs the hair if you would place it on your skin and roll it up and down.I was hesitant again at first but I just gave it a try since I had no choice during that time and plus it was very cheap for only Php 89. I tried it and I had this "maluha luhang moment" but I got used to the sting after a few tries. I was amazed by the result in fairness. It really grabbed all the hair on my upperlip (hooray!). I had to use it once every week so that I am mustache free. As of the moment I am using the Watson's facial hair remover. If there are any kinds of material or product that would do the same or better for facial hair I would love to give it a try also. <3

Make up Must have

Let us start the year 2013 with a bang! This is the first entry of the top 5 must have makeup items. the products that I will be posting are the products that i have used before and wowed me for their good characteristics or qualities. Some of the photo that i will be using are mine and some are just copied over the net. I will post the photo credits for those photos that i will get from the net. :)

1. Maybelline Baby Lips (Lip Balm)

- This is my favorite lip balm so far. This gives my lips a supple feeling and my dry cracked lips (eew) was healed! Magnificent.

2. Ever Bilena Advance Lip and Cheek Tint

-This reminds me of Benefit's Bene Tint but only in a cheaper cost. This is just worth more or less P120 as far as I can remember. This works really well and blends easily in your cheeks giving you a natural looking blush.

3. Avon Everlasting Liquid Liner

-I like this liquid liner because of its applicator. It is not a brush but I think they call it as 'felt' tip applicator. This makes my application easier. Its formula is also good because it can really stand for a day without any smudging unlike other liquid liners. thumbs up for this.

4. Avon Simply Pretty Eyebrow Defining Pencil

-This simple eyebrow pencil can really give so much definition to my brows and because you can blend it easily, this makes my brows naturally looking. By the way, i apply this using a small angled brush.

5. Maybelline Clear Smooth All in one Powder

-This covenient and my ever beloved powder is my favorite powder of all time. This controls my oiliness and evens out my skin tone. It is safe for the skin and I never experienced any breakouts unlike other powders out in the market. I only buy the refill because it is smaller and i can put it in my small travel makeup bag (plus..a have tons of mirrors so i think i don't need the compact mirror packaging)
